Week 10--Final Project- How social media algorithms influence the spread of culture and information in the digital society.

Have you ever been scrolling on social media and noticed the same types of videos funneling in on your feed? Or even the same video twice in a row? Definition: Algorithm (noun)- “A social media algorithm is a set of rules and computations that determine what content appears in a user's feed and in what order. These algorithms analyze user interactions such as likes, comments, and shares to create a personalized experience, but they can also prioritize engagement-driving content, leading to potential challenges like echo chambers and the spread of misinformation.”

Media Product Review-Week 8

Media Product Review November 22 of 2024 the iconic musical "Wicked" premiered in theaters all over the  world. Giving us the untold story behind "The Wizard of Oz." The movie focuses on a complicated friendship between a green girl named Elphaba (future wicked witch) and  popular (future good witch) Glinda.  Im choosing to review Wicked because the recent production of "Wicked: For Good." A second part to the original musical "Wicked" continuing the story and understanding the unanswered questions of friendship, discrimination, and potential family ties... Media Blog Project- Have you seen DWTS????

What kind of culture is television/streaming reflecting back at us today? Well, have you ever watched Dancing With the Stars? For almost 20 years now every Fall we see a new cast crew of professional dancers and celebrities, or in this case "stars," chosen to compete with one another for the "Mirrorball Trophy." Throughout the 11 week process us viewers receive one episode a week streaming at 8pm on ABC.  also streamed on Hulu if you cant watch live.  https://www.hulu.com/series/dancing-with-the-stars-7d918be0-4130-4551-aab8-c7dcae85d35f  Picture a reality tv crossover with a musical game show, that's how I would best describe DWTS. ABOUT YOU  My name is Raegyn Miller and I am currently a second year at Linn Benton Community College! I am newly studying Communications and so far it's been great (we're one week in😄.) I have a few hopes, goals, and dreams for my future career; The first one being to enjoy my career. So many people graduate with a degree and begin to pursue what they thought was something they loved, then soon it turns into a chore to go to work everyday. My number one goal is to LOVE my job.
